Restoring balance starts with an internal dialogue - how we speak and think about ourselves. Women generally are givers and yet we make this wrong as we are not receiving the same appreciation for effort that we would ...say in the external world.
Have the intention to focus on what you are doing well.
WHAT IF who you are is compassion - who you are is giving? As you bring yourself into a place of pause - you are more able to ask quality questions of yourself that uplift and revive strained nerves and even a sense of disappointment.
THE POWER YOU HOLD IS SEEKING RECOGNITION WITHIN YOURSELF.
Here's what we discussed: CLAIM three minutes in your day to stop, breathe and be still. We can all claim three minutes.
Ask yourself : I wonder ... who have I blessed today with my giving, just being myself. If you don't know the answer - do not push for it. Be kind and entertain the possibility that you are on AUTO PILOT - you are doing what you are doing without thinking or feeling it. Then ask the question again. Make this a practice.
As you honor yourself this way in your three minutes day in day out
YOU WILL START TO BUILD MEMORY MUSCLE - the brain will start to recognise the question is coming and look for the answers. This is one easy way to start restoring balance - CLAIMING YOUR SENSE OF WORTH.
Next: check that you are still relaxed and breathing gently in and out, allow your body to rest, feel the heaviness of your body as you give in to resting. Then ask yourself this question:
WHAT IF WHO I AM AS A WOMAN IS GIVING? I bless others. I share my love.
Again wait for the answer.
Now you are RETRAINING THE BRAIN TO ACCEPT, BELIEVE AND RESTORE.
There are many benefits on a physical and psychological level when you pause and interrupt the old pattern to judge yourself. Make it a habit to honor yourself for THREE MINUTES EVERY DAY.
Lastly:
TO GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD YOU HAVE TO BE IN YOUR BODY.
Women spend a lot of time in their heads or separate from their bodies. WHY? We are geared to be doing instead of being with and in our body, heart and soul.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN PRACTICE BEING GROUNDED AND IN YOUR BODY: Stand and feel the ground under your feet is a good start. Another is to practice the body scan we did today. Jon Kabat Zinn has several youtube clips on Body Scan Meditation.
Remember it is small shifts in how you think and feel about yourself that reset the mind and open to restoring your balance.
